There are two ways you can give love and donate:

Go to our Donate page and donate a one of amount or set up a monthly payment. As little as $10 a month makes such a difference to saving our dogs and pets.
-
You can donate physical items. Mops, buckets, cleaning aids, crates, towels, metal bowls, blankets, brown rice, veggie donations, meats i.e. chicken, beef, lamb, fish, kangaroo, rosehip, fish oil.
We make ALL the meals for our family members to ensure a healthy diet which is low in fat and high in protein and energy.

What if I want to adopt a dog?
If someone wants to adopt a dog from us there is an adoption form and a fee of $350.
There are several meet and greets to make sure the match is right and BOTH are comfortable with each other.
If the adopter has another dog, they must bring it to second meeting and any further meetings.
A home trial of one week is arranged, especially for the older dogs.
It’s imperative that proof of a secure and loving environment is shown i.e. secure yard, sound and healthy food, adherence to regular vet visits, especially for our elderly dogs.

What happens when we rescue a dog?
The dog is firstly assessed by a vet for any health issues. Appropriate actions are taken i.e. medicines, surgery, dentals etc.
If dog is healthy enough to be re-homed then we search for an appropriate home. As most of our rescues are elderly it’s important for adoptees to understand the future medical expenses and health issues that may arise. Quality time with the adoptee is important as they approach “old man”, “old lady” status.
If a dog has too many health issues and needs regular meds and vet checks they retire in our care. i.e. Tommy, 17yr old poodle, has Cushings, epilepsy, pancreatitis and thyroid issues. These are all manageable with medication but expensive and most people don’t want that responsibility. So we take this on so they can live their best life.
The dogs are then introduced to our pack, my own dogs included. My dogs have been taught to help and respect the elderly.
If the dog is not used to a large amount of dogs the introduction is slow and they are taught to be loved by not just humans but peers of their own. Success rate is 100% thus far.
